Press release – Nordic night dive 2007
Thursday the 6th of December 2007 at 20:07 (Norwegian time) a world record attempt
in night dive will be conducted.
Diving will take place in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Island.
At 20:07 more than a 1000 divers through out Scandinavian will conduct one
simultaneously night dive.
Tone Svee Dahl (30) from Fredrikstad in Norway is the person behind the idea.
She is coordinating with local organizers through out the five countries in Scandinavia.
The intention with this event is to put diving in Scandinavian on the map,
to bring divers through out the countries closer together and to show others that scuba diving
is a exciting and social hobby that can be conducted year round and at all hours of the day.
Never before have Scandinavian seen such an event.
In 2005 a country wide night dive in Norway took place where 351 participants did a simultaneously dive.
In 2006 dives where conducted in Norway, Denmark and Sweden. 889 where simultaneously
in the water and dives where conducted at 93 different locations.
The local and nation wide press have displayed great interest in the event in the previous years
and we hope they also will this time.
